Ittawamba Lodge #235
AIE Seminar
Ittawamba Lodge
will be having their third AIE Seminar!
December, 2008!

The five major men's dance styles will be taught (see below), along with their corresponding regalia!

We will have well-known guest instructors for these courses from across the country, and you will receive the best instruction available!

Ceremonies:  Ceremonies groups interested in making their outfits more authentic can benefit from the regalia courses as well (especially the Straight Dance Class).  You will also have the Ceremonies Basic and Advanced Class Option !

Singing:  We again have the Mossy Creek Singers from East Tennessee coming to teach Singing at the Drum.  They will also cover the making of drum beaters.

Ladies:  This year, Ladies Dance Style overview will be taught! This will cover the basic Ladies' Dance Styles with corresponding regalia, and the basic dance steps.  Time permitting, we will also cover the making of a shawl.

Who Can Attend:  You do NOT have to be an OA member to attend.  If you are interested, please let us know.  There are options for anyone wishing to learn!

Pow Wow: A traditional mini pow wow will be held on Saturday evening for all participants and staffers.  Family members are welcome to attend the pow wow.  We are encouraging Cub Scouts to attend the pow wow, just for the fun of it (they will learn something, too)!

Brochure/Registration Form:  A brochure will be available for download above as soon as we can get started on the coming year's program!  This is printed out on 8 1/2 x 14 paper, two sided, and four-folded.

Location: The course will be set at the West TN National Guard Training Facility. We will be sleeping in barracks, so you will only need personal gear and a bedroll.  (Bring any regalia you are working on, finished or not.)  Meals are included.  Other expenses would be money to spend for the vendors we are working with, or our trading post.
